What nobody will tell you about being a creator is how isolating it can be. There are parts of your life that outsiders can never truly understand even your friends and family. . People don't understand that being your own boss doesn't mean self-imposed deadlines are flexible it matters even more to be disciplined. You can't just drop things because you don't punch a clock. 9 to 5 is a luxury try 7-10... and no weekends off either... that's the reality. . You'll see many of us constantly traveling and going on trips. But what you're not seeing is the hours of preparing slide decks for meetings or talks. The scrambling last minute to buy a charger or a better carry-on. . This is not about complaining or comparing. The fact is that being your own boss being a creator is HARD and it can be draining and lonely but if you say that out loud.. people just counter with all the things you should be grateful for... without understanding that gratitude doesn't eliminate physical or emotional stress instantly like magic. Or address a feeling of isolation or not relating to other people outside the industry. . Creators don't move to bigger cities just because it's a trendy thing to do or only for their #goals and ambitions but because being around other people who understand you and what you are going through matters. Having that sense of belonging and being able to talk honestly about the struggles that nobody else thinks are real matters. .
